Text Rendering

This is my new Text rendering component, which has the following features :

  • Left, Right and Centre Justification
  • Manual positioning or Grid snapping
  • Per letter colouring and transparency
  • Background colouring and texturing
  • Default or custom font bitmaps
  • Rotation
The data that changes per frame gets updated by filling a Dynamic Vertex buffer with values for each letter as a point. These points are then expanded into quads in the Geometry Shader.
